Job Report – Leak Under Bath

The customer reported a water leak underneath the bathtub and requested investigation and repair.

Inspection and Findings:

Upon investigation, the leak was traced to the hot water pipe and its tap/connections underneath the bath. The leak was found to have occurred due to a failure of the plumbing components and was not caused by any human error, misuse, accidental damage, or interference by the customer. The leak occurred as a result of the plumbing system/component failing by itself.

Works Carried Out:

Access was gained to the tap and plumbing connections underneath the bath.
The faulty tap/connections were replaced.
The water supply was restored to the system.
The repaired pipework and connections were tested thoroughly.
No further leakage was found, and the system was confirmed to be operating correctly.

Damage Caused:

The water leak has caused damage to the floorboard underneath the bathtub. We recommend that the damaged floorboard is inspected and repaired/replaced at a later date by the appropriate contractor.

Conclusion:

The plumbing leak has been repaired successfully. Following testing, no further leakage was observed. The damage to the floorboard is consistent with the water leak and should be addressed separately.
