Pipe leaking in the bathroom

A leak was reported from the upstairs bathroom, affecting the downstairs kitchen ceiling.

Upon investigation, the leak was traced to a cold-water pipe located underneath the bath tub. The existing pipework was cast iron and had failed. Due to the active leak and the risk of further damage to the property, the repair was treated as urgent and required completion ASAP.

The main water supply was isolated and the pipework drained. The damaged cast-iron section was cut out and converted to copper pipework, with new connections installed.

The water supply was reinstated and the repaired pipework was fully tested. No further leakage was found, and the customer confirmed the leak had stopped.
